Injuries Slow Dwight Freeney's Quest to 100 Career Sacks

Syracuse great Dwight Freeney has been one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL for the last decade for the Indianapolis Colts. In his tenth season, he is closing in on rarefied air among the all-time NFL greats.
With another 1.5 sacks, Freeney will become only the 26th player in NFL history to record 100 sacks. So far this season, Freeney has 4.5 sacks, but over the last four games, Freeney has been slowed by injuries. After reecording 1.5 sacks against Kansas City on 10/9, Freeney missed the next two games against Cincinnati and New Orleans with injuries. He was listed as questionable for the Titans game yesterday after sitting out practice for much of the week.Freeney recorded 2 tackles in the game and hit Titans' QB Matt Hasselbeck twice but did not record a sack.
Over the last decade, Freeney is the NFL's leader in sacks and forced fumbles (43) using a variety of moves, particularly his spin-move to crush quarterbacks. He has a long way to go capture the NFL record for sacks. Reggie White finished his career with 200.
Freeney's quest for 100 sacks continues next week (Nov. 6) at home against the Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons.
